The Cooperage

Situated in the old Lutheran Schoolhouse, originally built in 1839, this building within a building now houses a Cooperage museum.

A BUILDING WITHIN A BUILDING.

This heritage listed school building constructed in 1839 under the supervision of Pastor Kavel, now features an historic Cooperage display. You will see old Cooperage tools, barrels and artefacts – all the essential items used by a Cooper to make the wooden barrels which are vital to the winemaking process.
